Welcome To On The Move

On The Move is a woman-owned, small business located in Arlington, VA. Candice Kaup founded On The Move in 2000 as a personal training company focusing on clients who needed to get out of the office, off the couch, and "get movin'!" Over the years, On The Move has evolved into so much more.

Today, On The Move provides both virtual and in-person personal training, holistic exercise therapy programs, health education and advocacy, exercise classes for populations needing modifications to "typical" workouts, and pre/post-operative exercise therapy. Additionally, Candice is a certified integrative health practitioner (IHP1) who takes a holistic approach to educating clients her clients about adding life to their years; not just years to their lives. Candice's training was conducted under the leadership of the world-renowned Dr. Stephen Cabral. Candice helps her clients identify the root cause of what ails them. She also focuses on how the inter-relationship of diet, exercise, stress, toxicity, rest, emotional balance, supplements, and success mindset foster a path toward longevity and rebalancing the body.

It's never too early or too late to "get movin'!" Candice welcomes clients of all ages, capabilities, and levels of motivation. Over the last two decades, Candice has developed an expertise and fondness for working with senior populations. Whether it is in the pool, or at the studio, Candice educates seniors on exercises necessary to maintain safe and functional living, the latest research, and a variety of other senior-specific topics. Candice also works with seniors who suffer from cognitive impairments and a multitude of other issues.

On the other end of the age spectrum, Candice finds much reward in designing programs for kids that are geared toward sport-specific goals they have, or just do some "fun" and creative personal training with kids who may not otherwise feel inclined to exercise.

Don't worry if you don't fall within one of these demographics, Candice can still work with you or refer you to her vast network of doctors and other healthcare providers.

Why Choose On The Move?

Candice Kaup saved my life. Literally. In September 2021, I was diagnosed with a mass in my pancreas, mostly likely cancerous. I was 47 years old and had two kids aged 12 and 14. It was terrifying. I had a blocked biliary vein that was causing jaundice - one of my symptoms. I was told by my PA that I would need a stent immediately, and she submitted my case to a local hospital. I heard nothing back from them. I talked to Candice and she immediately understood the severity of my situation.  I thought I should wait to hear from the doctors, she knew better. Candice researched the best facilities for pancreatic cancer and contacted her many connections for information and recommendations. She learned that the best course of action would be to get me into Johns Hopkins. She filed the paperwork, made the phone calls and got me into the system. Candice motivated me to get my blocked biliary tube taken care of asap.  She told me where to go, what to do and exactly what to let the doctors know to convey how dire my situation was. They started the treatment plan immediately. Candice then supported me and my family throughout the entire process, helping with rides, family logistics, and food delivery. The most difficult part of my treatment was the 11-hour Whipple Surgery. Candice made sure I had the best surgeon, was there when I woke up, connected me to nutritionists, and gave me massages to ease my muscle pain.

I’ll say it again, Candice Kaup saved my life. If I waited, the tumor would have led to an inoperable situation.  My situation was complicated and she helped find the right people to take care of it. Two years later, Candice is consistently checking on me. Because of Candice, her knowledge, connections and quick actions, I am still here and able to share my story.
